External models are AI models developed by other companies. These include Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.6, Google Gemini 3.0 Pro, & OpenAI GPT-5.1. These models provide specialized capabilities that complement Ninja’s built-in AI by offering different approaches to tasks like text generation, image creation, and research.

AI models from different companies are different because each company builds their model using slightly different data, and then fine-tunes it for specific tasks. They also use different techniques and technology to improve how well the model understands and responds to people. As a result, some models might be better at certain tasks, like answering complex questions, while others excel in creative tasks like generating images.

Ninja makes it easy, when you start a task, you can select from available models or let Ninja auto-select recommend the best model based on your task. Over time you'll learn which models you prefer for different types of work, whether that's writing, coding, research, or image generation.

All plans include access to a wide range of models, but some of the premium like OpenAI's GPT-5 High Thinking & Gemini's 3.0 Pro Preview models are only available to users on Ultra & Max plans. Check out pricing page or model breakdown table for the full details.
